Overview

TennisSmart is a tennis match tracking app designed for players and parents. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What Data We Collect

Data You Provide

Account information — your name and email address (if you sign in with email), or your Apple/Google identity (if you use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google)
Player profiles — player names you create within the app
Opponent profiles — names and notes you record about opponents
Match data — scores, points, serve statistics, rally data, match notes, and court conditions you record during matches
Practice session data — drill names, durations, and notes you log

Data Collected Automatically

Device information — operating system version, used only for app compatibility
Weather data — if you enable weather tracking for a match, we fetch current conditions from a weather service based on your location at match time. Location is used only for this purpose and is not stored permanently.

How We Use Your Data

To operate the app — display scores, statistics, and match history
To generate performance analytics and coaching insights
To sync your data across devices (if cloud sync is enabled)
To provide AI coaching analysis (match statistics are sent to OpenAI’s API — no personal identifiers are included in these requests)

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data Storage

On Your Device

All match data, player profiles, and settings are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data remains on your device unless you enable cloud sync.

Cloud Sync (Optional)

If cloud sync is enabled, your match data is stored securely in Supabase (a cloud database service). Data is associated with your account and used only to provide the sync feature. Supabase’s privacy policy is
available at supabase.com/privacy.

Children’s Privacy

TennisSmart is designed for use by junior tennis players, typically with parental involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. All match data is entered manually by the parent or player — we do not automatically collect personal information from minors.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data — all your match data is visible within the app at any time
Delete your data — go to the app → Profile tab → scroll to the bottom → tap “Delete Account”. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data from the app and from our servers. This action cannot be undone.
Export your data — use the Share Match Summary feature to export match data at any time
To delete your account: open TennisSmart → tap the Profile tab → scroll to the bottom → tap “Delete Account”. All data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
